Being a Dad is all about being present.

In South Africa the phenomenon of absent fathers is widespread and increasingly affecting families. More than 60% of black children are raised in a home without a biological father. This has an impact on weak father-child bonding. All children have the right to be able to know and develop a relationship with a father - a biological father.

And knowing that life happens - we can acknowledge that there are many different types of families and households eg single parent, heterosexual, same sex, gogo-headed, child -headed - a child might not be reared in the same household. But all children need fathers. To bond with, to learn from, to identify with, to share with, to belong, to be part of - all children have a right to parents. Dads can still be present in the lives of their children even if they are not present in the home.

WE SALUTE DADS WHO ARE PRESENT!
